We are incorporating a slide setpoint reset device into our system. My current dilemma is that I believe that the SNVT_temp_p nviSetpoint should be used to send the temperature setpoint to the stat, meanwhile another PM involved with past LON Viconics experience is demanding that the SNVT_temp_setpt nciSetPts (Occ Ht and Cool + Unocc Ht and Cool) should be sent to the stat.

Please vote on this so I can follow the lead of more experience to resolve my position.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in replying.

nviSetpoint is typically used for a single central command to reset ALL thermostat(s) occupied setpoints simultaneously.

If for example you send 70F, the the resulting Occ heat & Occ cool setpoints will be:
Occ heat = 70F - ( current configured deadband / 2 )
Occ cool = 70F + ( current configured deadband / 2 )

If the configured deadband value is ex 2F, then:
Occ heat = 69F
Occ cool = 71F

Be sure the command is only sent periodically as needed and not on a fixed heartbeat

nciSetpoint allows you to write to ALL/ANY setpoints independently. However, in order to get a local re-fresh value if a setpoint is changed locally by a user, be sure to have the nciSetpoint periodically polled.
